Last week on the blog we talked about the Silhouette Soft Thread Lift treatment and how it can help redefine your face and make you look younger, this week I’m taking you through my personal experience of the Silhouette Soft Thread Lift and why I decided to have it.
I am 38.5 (years young) and fabulous! I am a mother of two little boys (who are 3 and 4.5 years old), founder of W1 Wellness, marathoner and aspiring entrepreneur. I have always been told that I don’t look my age, mostly because of my genetics, however being in the aesthetics industry means that I am also armed with a few tricks and tips.
My affair with Botox (indeed it is Botox not any other brands) started when I was 27, mainly small doses for my glabella frown lines. I also had Botox to elevate my eyebrow slightly as one of the only signs of my actual age are my hooded eyes and also for sweaty armpits.
I started using Dermal fillers in the form of hyaluronic acid about 3 years ago. I do have high cheekbones and full cheeks but one of the disadvantages is that once it starts going a little south and my nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines or monkey lines) get more noticeable. So, gentle injections here help to cover up those monkey lines. I also had a little enhancement of my cheeks, my lips, my nose and my chin (as being Asian Oriental – my nose is quite flat and my face is quite rounded).
I have considered threads for a while. Especially when I was doing a lot of running for my marathon training, I noticed the loss of volume and sagging of tissues became more visible. So, finally yesterday I had my thread lift done with none other than the founder of Silhouette Soft, Dr Roberto Pizzamiglio.
I had 3 threads on each side. The most scary part was actually the local anaesthetic but it’s no worse than going to the dentist. In fact I still think the dentist is worse! My face is still a little swollen at the moment but I can already see sharper jaw lines, less nasolabial folds by repositioning the sagging tissue and a fresher me. For a lot of people it may seem that I am fairly young to have a thread lift, as threads are often seen as only for the older patient, but this isn’t the case – by having them younger it will help to prevent sagging of the tissues before it becomes apparent and before it creates other lines. Prevention I believe is always better than the cure!
