“A woman’s skin is like her business card. It shows up in the world first.”
- Dr Terry
Dr Terry's mission is to help women look and feel their best with each passing year. Naturally and holistically.
Known as an Integrative Cosmetic & Skin Doctor, she helps her patients understand how their skin behaves and how their face changes with time to fully take charge of how they age, looking and feeling their best in the years to come.
Dr Terry’s passion for skin and aesthetics stems from the loss of her mother when she was 19 years old, just 3 weeks of her starting medical school. Her mother had terrible acne, acne scars, varicose veins and loose tummy skin (from having 5 children). Her confidence was affected and Dr Terry regrets not being able to help her when she passed away suddenly at the age of 46 years old. Since then, she knew she wanted to do something in her life that would help women see the amazing beauty they have inside of them that would radiate out on their skin and face.
Dr Terry began her career as a surgeon, graduating from King’s College London, specialising in general and plastic surgery before concentrating solely on non-surgical aesthetic procedures. With the advancement of non-surgical treatments, she realised there was so much that could be done to maintain looking healthy and well-rested, without resorting to surgery (if done at the right time and in the proper manner as the face changes with age). Prevention is key and with over 10 years experience in the aesthetic industry, she’s known for her gentle touch and artistic eye in facial rejuvenation, restoring youthful features and creating a natural refreshed look.
Having her own personal experience with adult acne and early-stage cervical cancer at the age of 30 years old, she expanded her knowledge and experience in Preventative Medicine and Anti-ageing Medicine. She believes it’s important to optimise nutrition and balance hormones, working in tandem with advanced skin and aesthetic treatments to fully get the best results. An author and previously medical director of her own award-winning clinic, she joined the WOW Squad due to a shared vision and philosophy.
Being a working mum, she understands the juggling act many women go through and want to help women look their best while they’re out in the world being the captain of their own lives. However she knew she couldn’t do this alone so she joined forces with Dr Amanda Wong-Powell with a vision in mind to create the ultimate clinic with the best professionals and treatments women deserve. Dr Terry is also the Medical Director of W1 Knightsbridge to maintain quality and finding new treatments that work for the modern woman of today.
Originally from Malaysia and married to a South African Chinese, she’s a proud mum to a gorgeous little boy. When not working, she enjoys rock climbing, travelling, writing, dancing and filming for her educational Youtube channel DrTerryTV. She currently resides in Bali with her family when she’s not in clinic for a healthier lifestyle for her son. One of her goals in life is to create educational workshops in schools to help children care for their skin and health to prevent acne and obesity which can often leave scars inside as well as out.
