Dr. Amanda Wong-Powell MBChB MRCS qualified as a doctor in 2005 at the University of Sheffield, England. She gained her surgical membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009.
She has worked in Accident and Emergency, General Surgery as well as being an Anatomy Demonstrator and Tutor for Undergraduate Medical Students. She spent six years as a Specialist Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedics including one year in a Spinal Injury Unit.
She has always been fascinated by surgery particularly Plastic Surgery hence her time in Anatomy and Orthopaedics as well as spending her own personal time shadowing and learning from renowned Plastic Surgeons globally. With her manual dexterity, artistic and creative nature as well as her keen aesthetic eye, she chose to pursue Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery as a career. She has been working in the Aesthetic industry for over 10 years, although initially part-time while she was still in surgical training in the NHS. She was the Clinical Director of a large clinic group before deciding on setting up her own aesthetic clinic with an ethical philosophy centering on wellness and aesthetics.
Dr. Amanda Wong-Powell is also a member of the British Association of Body Sculpting (BABS), British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) and the European College of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (ECAMS). Dr. Amanda is passionate about her specialty, regularly attends international conference to learn and to speak. Dr. Amanda has presented her work on national and international level including IMCAS Paris, IMCAS Bali, AMWC Monaco.
Over the last year, Dr. Amanda has decided to concentrate on building her W One Clinic in Knightsbridge, London as well as globally with partnership clinics through W One Global in Marbella, Milan, Rome, Prague and Singapore. Her ambition is to form a global cosmetic clinic group with ethical philosophy to ensure patients are having the best possible treatment by the best surgeons and doctors with excellence in care and service.
Her motto, “Strive for Nothing but Excellence” is what propels her forward. Her focus and determination to be the best has never wavered. Driven by her love and passion of aesthetics, she strives to create the finest clinic in London. This is only the first step to her global aspirations.
Dr. Amanda has two little boys; Henry and Teddy aged five and four respectively. As a mother of two, she loves cooking for her children and friends, and also is a keen foodie. In her free time, she is also pursuing her Private Pilots License (PPL), loves driving and competes on the race tracks, runs weekly (completed the London Marathon 2017), loves writing, singing and travelling. She has a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo. She is also multi-lingual; other than English, she speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, a few Chinese dialects, Malay Language, Indonesian and Italian.
She also dedicates her time towards helping others and has been involved in several fund raising activities for her local community. Dr. Amanda supports the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh each year with a bursary in her father’s memory (Wong Choon Hee Student Elective Travel Bursaries) to offer medical students an opportunity for financial support towards their elective placement in surgery. Dr. Amanda is also very proud to be a UK Advocate for Professors Without Borders and to have the clinic supporting the charity Professors Without Borders founded by HRH Princess Tessy de Luxembourg. Dr. Amanda is also a proud member of The Sorority; uniting and inspiring influential women of the world.
